Natalie

Natalie Bassingthwaighte was married for several years before her rise to fame. The marriage lasted until 1998 when she began her stage career starring in productions such a Rent.

Despite leaving Neighbours to focus on her musical career Natalie has expressed a desire to attempt to head to LA to continue acting.

Natalie is working on a childrens novel with one of her sisters (with Natalie having said on several occasions that she does want to have children and her continued support for various children's charities).

Natalie's relationship with Ryan Eckersley, the Neighbours assistant to the director, took a twist when the official Neighbours site annouced that they were to marry in late 2005. As fans picked up on the story it was quickly retracted and there was silence for several months until Natalie annouced she was dating Cameron McGlinchey in early 2006.

Whilst her acting and music career has flourished thanks to Natalie Bassingthwaighte's part in Neighbours and the Rogue Traders, Natalie has said that he true love is for the stage. Natalie has performed in several musicals prior to her rise to fame, such as Rent and Footloose. Her most notable on stage performance was in a national production of Grease in 2005.

Natalie was chosen from 6000 people as an original cast member of the Australian Tour of Rent, covering the fabulous Maureen and playing Mark's Mum. She then directly joined the cast of Chicago, understudying Roxie and playing the role of June in both Australia and Asia.

Natalie's first professional engagement was a singer dancer at Australia’s Wonderland, followed by two seasons as lead vocalist and stand up comic at Kaos Comedy Theatre restaurant.

Whilst Natalie was at school she was also a member of The Talent Development Project, graduating the same year as the boys from Human Nature. Locally she played Audrey in Little Shop Of Horrors, before studying fulltime at The Australian College Of Entertainment.

Before Natalie established herself as an actress, she was a meter maid, worked in a café, ran a Llama farm, and ran a recording studio.
