"It took me a while to find my own sound, probably longer than I expected," she said at the GQ Man of the Year nomination night in Melbourne this week, where she was a surprise guest.

"But I am really happy with the result, it represents me wholly and solely.

"It's a mix of sounds - there's lots of light and shade, some really fun pop songs as well as some slower more personal ballads and a few quirky moments that I can't wait to perform."
